Infusion Directions
Select the season's most flavorful fresh or dried fruits, vegetables
or herbs. Thoroughly wash, rinse and dry ingredients.
Prepare according to each recipe's directions. Simple syrup is equal
amounts of granulated sugar and water,
brought to a boil, stirred to dissolve sugar, and cooled. Can be stored
in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
Gently place ingredients in 2 liter infusion jar. Add one 750ml bottle
of Finlandia Vodka. Cover tightly.
Let the mixture infuse in the refrigerator according to each recipe's
directions.
The vodka will absorb the ingredients' flavors.
Taste once or twice to determine whether you prefer a stronger flavor.
Add ingredients as desired. Should the flavor be too intense, add more
Finlandia Vodka.
Discard ingredients.
(Loaded with alcohol, they are generally unpalatable.
However, infused peppers and tomatoes can be cooked on the grill when
barbecuing).
Serve the vodka infusion ice cold in a variety of glassware, including
a martini, cordial, flute, wine or rocks glass or a brandy snifter.
Serve hot mixtures in a mug.
Infusion Recipes
Pineapple Kiss
2 cups chopped fresh pineapple
2 sprigs fresh mint
Infuse 2-3 days
Citrus Fiesta
1 medium ruby red grapefruit
1 medium Valencia orange
1 lime
Cut fruit in half circles, keeping peel intact. Infuse 1 day.
Lemon Burst
2 sprigs, 12" long, fresh lemon verbena or 2 stalks lemon grass
Infuse 1-2 days
Autumn Leaves
1 each Granny Smith, Empire and Yellow Delicious apple, sliced
2 cinnamon sticks, 6" long
Infuse 3 days
A Star Is Born
1 cup each dried apricots and dried blueberries
1 strip fresh orange rind, 10" long, 1" wide
1 Star fruit, sliced
Infuse 3-4 days
Melon Tini
1 ½ cups each, chopped honeydew, watermelon and cantaloupe
Fill with Finlandia Vodka
Infuse 2-3 days
Peppers 'n Herbs
2 strips each, 3" wide, red, green and yellow peppers
1 sprig each fresh rosemary and thyme
Fill with Finlandia vodka
Infuse 3-4 days
Citrus Kiss
Fill jar with lemons and limes (washed, seeded, cut in half)
Add 10 oz. of simple syrup
Fill with Finlandia vodka
Infuse 1-2 days
The Philly Surprise
8 sun-dried tomatoes
4 sprigs fresh cilantro
Infuse 3-4 days
Dol-Finn
1 1/2 cup each chopped honeydew, watermelon cantaloupe
1/2 oz. blue curacao
Splash pineapple juice and sweet sour mix or lemonade
Infuse fruit 3 days
Combine 2 oz. Finlandia infusion, blue curacao, juice and sweet sour
mix or lemonade in rocks glass over ice.
Garnish with lemon slice
Macho Gazpacho
1 each yellow tomato, celery stalk, Italian parsley sprig, 5 cherry
tomatoes
1 small red onion, quartered
2 small scallions
1 each Anaheim chile, split Serrano or Poblano Chile
Tolstoy Imperiale
1 1/2 cup dried apricots
1 vanilla bean, 6" long, split
1/2 oz. orange flavored liqueur
1 strip fresh orange rind, 6" long
Infuse 3-4 days
Fruit Salad
1 medium ripe pineapple, chopped
1 C each blueberries, raspberries seedless green grapes
Infuse 2-3 days
The Sfuzzi Sfizz
2 pts. strawberries, hulled
1 blood orange, peeled and sliced
1 oz. sweet sour mix or lemonade
Club soda or seltzer
Infuse fruit 2-3 days
Combine 2 oz. Finlandia infusion and sweet sour mix or lemonade in
tall glass over ice.
Fill glass with club soda or seltzer. Garnish with orange slice and
maraschino cherry.
Fire Alarm Martini
2 each Anaheim chiles Thai dried red chiles
3 yellow Jalapeño chiles
Dash Extra Dry vermouth
Infuse chilies 1 day
Pour 2 2/1 oz. Finlandia infusion and vermouth into shaker filled with
ice. Shake or stir vigorously until ice cold.
Strain into martini glass. Garnish with Chile
Strawberry-Kiwi
Layer a jar to the top with whole fresh strawberries (washed and stems
removed)
and fresh kiwi (peeled and sliced)
Add 12 ounces of simple syrup
Fill with Finlandia Vodka
Infuse 2-3 days.
The Mediterranean
8 sun dried tomatoes
20 Calamata olives 1
sprig fresh rosemary
5 oz. tomato-vegetable juice
Splash hot pepper sauce
Infuse first three ingredients 2-3 days
Combine 1 1/2 oz. Finlandia infusion, juice and hot pepper sauce in
tall glass over ice. Garnish with lemon slice.
Bloody Caesar
4 sun dried tomatoes
3 lemon wedges
1 Jalapeño chile
5 oz. clam-flavored tomato juice
Infuse the first three ingredients 1-2 days
Moisten rim of tall glass with fresh lemon juice. Dip rim into celery
salt. Add ice, 1 1/2 oz.
Finlandia infusion and tomato juice. Garnish with marinated green bean.
Antipasto Martini
3 each fresh rosemary sprigs radishes
1 small whole fennel, include leaves
6 each sun dried tomatoes and (optional) tom-olives
2 small cloves garlic
8 black olives
1 small whole red and yellow bell pepper
1 dried Italian red hot pepper
Infuse 1 day
Pour 2 oz Finlandia infusion into ice-filled shaker. Stir or shake
vigorously until ice cold.
Strain into martini glass. Garnish with black olive and tom-olive.
Sunset Spritzer
2 cups dried currants or raisins
2 slices unpeeled orange
1/2 oz. white creme de cacao
Splash grenadine club soda or seltzer
Infuse fruit 3-4 days.
Combine 1 1/2 oz. Finlandia infusion and white creme de cacao in tall
glass over ice.
Fill with club soda or seltzer. Add grenadine. Wrap orange slice around
cherry. Spear with pick to create "sun" on top of drink.
Mint Hot Chocolate
15 peppermint flavored candy canes
6 oz. hot chocolate
Infuse candy canes 1 hour
Pour 1 oz Finlandia infusion and hot chocolate into mug. Garnish with
whipped cream and candy cane.
Hot Apple Cider
3 small whole apples
2 cinnamon sticks, 6" long
8 whole cloves
4 pieces crystallized ginger
6 oz. hot apple cider or juice
Infuse first four ingredients 3-4 days
Pour 1 oz. Finlandia infusion and cider or juice into mug.
Garnish with cinnamon stick and orange rind.
Finlandia Express
1 cup Colombian coffee beans
1/2 cup each French Roast coffee beans, simple sugar syrup coffee-flavored
liqueur
1 cinnamon stick, 6" long
1/8 cup creme de cacao
1 vanilla bean, 6" long
Infuse 2-3 days
Combine with hot chocolate in winter
